I stay with families until the kids turn 3 and go to school.
So I stay for a maximum of 2 to 3 years.
Then I am not interested in less hours and I like to move on because after a while it ALWAYS get worse at some point.
Less hours because kids are in school means the parents will ask more chores to be completed and I am not a housekeeper.


Still. Not ALL children go to school at 2 or 3 years old. And in some families there is more than one child. If there are three children, three years apart, all starting school at age 3, you'd be there more than a half a decade per your rules, right?

I know it's hard, OP, but it is for the best. Stay in good terms so she can transition slowly out of your kid's lives and speak well of her to the kids. I hope you find a great nanny.

OP here. She is going to move on but stay until January. It’s not the money or the hours. She just doesn’t like me (she didn’t say that but think it’s obvious at this point). Not sure why but it is what it is. It was amicable and it’s sad.

What if they have another child in that 2-3 years?

And if the child doesn't start preschool until 2.5, 3, 4 or waits for kindergarten? What if there is another child?
