As a nanny I always appreciate a bonus (whatever I deserve, which is usually a weeks pay, maybe 2) and a picture of my NKs or sweet card.

I’ve had one NF who new me well enough to give me gifts I really enjoyed.

One MB was very sweet and gave me a designer purse. Wasn’t my taste but I really appreciated it and knew it cost top dollar.

With gifts, it’s sentiment not price tag.

PP here and we already have a Rumba and nanny really wants one for her house! BTW our nanny does no housekeeping at all by mutual agreement. She just sees the Rumba working in our house and wants one.

No, not is she just started with you and you are giving her her PTO in advance - she has no business expecting a year end bonus.

She should be more than just "okay", PP. Maybe think about finding a better nanny.

I know my children's nanny very well - she has been with us for 12 years. My oldest DD knows the exact MacBook she wants and this is what we are getting her for Christmas along with her holiday bonus. I can't wait to give it to her!!

Giving something to wear is tricky, I hate receiving something to wear, I'm picky when it comes to clothes.

The bonus is really nice. And coming from your DD, it could be a framed picture of them together or even just a drawing and a card where you thank her.
