I mean, come on - no one is so stupid to title a thread like that.

Our nanny only has the one toddler to take care of but she's been able to do some light housework too. She was hired to take care of baby first and foremost, caring, teaching, lots of outside time. So all bottles, Baby laundry and heating food for lunch and snacks were on her. When she's found time a couple times a weeks, She's made baby food and now that baby is older she cooks her meals From scratch and shows and narrates the cooking. On Fridays they do a big vacuum and mop of the common spaces and my 18 month old can wield a little broom and is not afraid of the vacuum. If you give her a paper towel, she'll start Wiping down the floor. She takes the diaper trash out and the regular trash occasionally when it needs it. I always thank her and we are generous with pay, time off, bonuses etc. If I were adding a baby to the mix, my expectations would be the same re laundry and general tidiness of space but that's it until the naps are sorted out. I'd rather the nanny take extra time to rest and have energy to go outside more and not burn out with two little ones.

as a nanny, i enjoyed having some housework to do. i love children, but i feel obligated to play with them all the time if i'm on the clock. this isn't good for them, and frankly playing with blocks or playing elaborate make believe games gets old. i need a mental break, and loading/unloading the dishwasher, running the vacuum, and straightening up is a welcome change. if i didn't feel well or we were busy, then it might not be spotless that day and i didn't feel bad about that. i especially enjoy cleaning/organizing in the winter/bad weather.

that said, i've been asked to do things i would not-clean the fridge, etc. everyone is different.
