Where are you located, OP? I have found that it's harder to find the share family than the nanny. I would start with the share family.

OP here, wow, no I am not trolling or lazy. I was asking to get an idea of what people offer. I'm completely new to hiring a nanny and don't have any idea of how the taxes work, how people handle vacations etc. I'm also having trouble knowing how to handle finding a family with whom to share the nanny. How do I begin to interview nannies if I don't know what to offer? I thought it would make sense to get on the same page with the other family. Maybe I should find the nanny first and go from there.

So you aren't the newbie you claim, in terms of overall knowledge? If you know enough to have an hourly number in mind, and to say that you "should have known this topic would cause controversy", then you know enough to be doing this research yourself. This info is ALL OVER this website.

So you're lazy or trolling then. Glad I didn't expend much time "helping" you.

I earn $22 an hour for a nanny share position but I did start at $20 an hour 2 years ago; I thought this fair as my experience was decent but not great. Going forward, I would accept $22 to start depending on other factors including hours, vacation etc
