Everybody ages. No need to feel weird. I'm alwyas going to be older than my employers now that I'm over 50

Everyone in every industry eventually has to deal with this. You start out as the young intern, or the young "hot-shot," and then gradually you realize that some of your bosses are your age, and then that you're actually older than some of the new folks. If you work for a big company, unless you're the CEO yourself, but the time you're in your 40s there will be people younger than you in supervisory roles.

Wait until your doctor is younger than you!

You get used to it pretty quickly, though.

PP, You could be me. My MB is 4 years older and like you, I am single with no kids whilst she is married with (of course) children. Our lives are so different and I do feel envious at how 'grown up' her life is and how successful she is. I try not to talk about personal lives with her. For example, she doesn't know I am single, what my interests are or anything like that. We have a good relationship but we won't ever be friends as I do feel she will (perhaps unfairly of me) think of herself as the better one out of us both as she has achieved so much. I always think she is seeing me as a bit of a loser.
