I tried, my boss just laughed at me and walked away. My whole weekend was taken up by these pets. I had no clue how involved it was until I showed up and read the instructions. I had to walk the dog 4 times each day.

She laughed at you? You should've quit on the spot. You're not her property OP. Stop acting like you have no autonomy. She can't make you do anything. Tell her off today, and start your job search NOW.

Come on... Given all of the information OP left out of her initial post, I am sure she's not accurately describing this encounter either... Because, again, it makes no sense.

She laughed at you and walked away!!! Come on, OP, grow a set! Your employer put you in a demeaning position and you agreed to it.

Find another job and a therapist. I am not joking - that you put up with being laughed at and did the job anyway speaks volumes about your self-esteem. You need help.

You need to be assertive and say NO. The damn dogs could have starved and used the dining room table for their bathroom and wiped their rumps on the china!

You must tell them "never again."

You need to have a sit down and tell MB and DB how you feel. Do not let this slide.

Ho knock on their door and tell them they owe you $50 or whatever. Guarantee it won't happen again.

That would make no difference as her cretin MB had no right to volunteer her services for free or paid!

+1. plus the neighbor should have talked to OP and asked her if what he was planning to pay her was ok for OP. leaving a tip on the table to somebody who never agreed to do the job certainly does not make the situation right.

OP ignore PP that said you left out relevant info. You didn't. You're right. What you're doing over the weelend, even if it is pet sitting for them, doesn't give yourB the right to lend you out like a damn house slave. I would put my foot down just because of how disrespectful it is to my autonomy as a human being. I'm your employee, not your property, and I decide what work I do for whom and for what price.
