Maybe you have our previous nanny! She asked for $50 a week for about 20 miles.

maybe OP's nanny needs a FT job that grosses $800-900/week. She can't nickel and dime a part-time employer to pay like a full-time job.

She is crazy. SHe's doing a mash-up of various things her nanny friends may or may not get and trying to hold you over a barrel.

Fire her, she's beyond selfish and certainly not thinking of the long-term or building a nanny-family relationship - which typically involves puts & takes, flexibility, etc.
If you sense she is only all about the money, then it's likely you are getting subpar childcare as well - since that is not a focus of hers.

She likely spoke to some other nanny who has an entirely different job scope and pay scheme and heard that nanny gets $50/month for who knows what amount of driving or caretaking. And now your nanny is asking for the same. Yuck.

You are already overpaying. You can choose to include driving in the hourly rate or choose to pay ANY amount per mile (including below, at or above the IRS rec'd mileage cap).

Very petty on her part for 2 miles of driving a day. Very petty.
