Op here. I accepted after negotiations but they rescinded the offer after I canceled a date night foe a serious family situation.

They are thinking of doing daycare in the fall when I would enter grad school. It will be about a 10 month commitment. I would have to find a summer job to bridge the gap between summer and grad school.
So OP, you need a family going to daycare next fall and need nanny thru the summer? That is going to limit your options. Best bet would be to find family with child going into pre-k/k next year so they need full time care only for one more year.

OP here. They aren't willing to come up on pay.
If you are out of work, take it as a temporary job and keep looking.
