I'm sorry they're so unreasonable, OP. I used to work in a kids activity center, and we had the A/C set to 69, because that's what the teachers and kids needed to feel comfortable. I don't see why you can't have some A/C during the day and it can be warmer when she is home. The pool is also ridiculous. Wishing you an improved experience for your next job

I'm glad you talked to them about it. She should really wear a sweater and/or get tested for anemia. Ridiculous. I'd start looking for a job now if I were in your situation, but that's just me.

OP here- I talked to the parents about the a/c, apparently the mom is always cold so she won't budge. She goes to the office all day but then is cold when she gets home at night. Whatever. MB complained that I haven't been taking the boys in the pool and I told it it was too hot and made me feel sick. Last week they heated the pool then the sun heated the pool and when we went in it was 93. I told my bosses I would no longer go in the pool when it's above 85, so at least now they're not heating it anymore. MB maybe needs to eat more food or something because there's no reason to be so cold all the time. The boys are in school full time starting next year and I think after this summer I'm going to give my notice. It's not worth it anymore, especially when after 4 years the parents clearly don't care about me or my comfort.

I would never tolerate inconsiderate employers. My work is too important to have that kind of interference.

My nanny family let's me control the temperature when I'm working even when they're working from home.
They want the kids and nanny to be comfortable.

I would definitely talk to them and make it clear that you can't work like that.
Also, a 90F pool sounds miserable.

I think some of this depends on how and where you were raised - we have neighbors from holland and the West Indies that both keep their a/c at 80 - I find it completely miserable - like I literally can't stand in the foyer of their house I am so bloody hot. I grew up in a house that was set to 70/72 during the day and 66 at night - and I still keep it that way! My in laws set their house to 76 and I even find that hot.
