Are you getting paid your regular rate tfor all the hours? A lot of nannies don't understand that when you ask for guaranteed hours, it means that are agreeing to pay you because you are available to work for them. It's not just extra vacation. You should absolutely getting paid mileage for any miles you drive.
No, I don't get paid mileage which is 60 miles RT. I suggested that I can come pick up my check, but the dad is very unreliable and I'd show up and he won't have his check book and ask to pay me another time.. Which I've had to plenty of times and I know many of you would NOt wait 4 weeks for a single check! I think many of you are forgetting that the kids are gone, that's why I'm not working DUH. Parents are not, mom will be home entire time, dad will be away for 1 of the 3 weeks.

I go in on days I'm supposed to work. I don't see what your misunderstanding? You are being asked to feed a cat for pete's sake ON YOUR SCHEDULED WORK DAYS for your full days pay. Grow up/

Everyone needs to adapt to divorce except you, eh? You might have the technical right to claim pay for hours you weren't expecting to work, but morally? you suck.
You might have had some sympathy until you suggested you should get paid $40 on top of what you were already making for NOT working. Loser.

OP, as some others have said this is a divorce argument and presumably dad doesn't want to pay when mom found someone else to watch the kids. But that is their problem.
That said, you are also asking for favors in post dated checks. Stop it. You don't want to do favors and that's fine, but don't expect them to make things easier on you either. Pick up the check or get it when they return.
But really, MB is your employer. Ask her to sort this out.

I disagree in this case. This is tantamount to being asked to feed the neighbor's cat in the next town over. Also, since mom isn't actually going anywhere, I suspect she'll get called in at some point anyway.

He's asking you to go to another work site to feed the cat? No. In this case, MB needs to run interference for you. If he has nothing to do with the children during the week, I'd argue that he is no longer your supervisor or boss in this arrangement. He is just providing the funds to MB.
He's feeling used because of the divorce. If you're already underpaid, I'd expect this dynamic to get worse. Most people underestimate the real cost of running two households when they divorce. The person who isn't getting the "benefit" of the majority of the funds (even though he is, since he doesn't have to care for the kids) often starts to think it all costs too much.

Since your work site is in DC, and the father is asking you to go someplace else during your work hours (which any employer can do), bring up the matter of mileage and tolls. This is business travel and should be compensated as such.
