It had no effect on my desire to become a mother but absolutely informed me on what kind of a mother NOT to be. Very, very valuable experience for me.

You should not think that you can not have your children. In the modern world is treated and not so. There are reproductive technologies that allow you to perform such magic. In conjunction with hormone therapy, it gives excellent results.

You’re not my doctor or specialist. My team still recommends not getting pregnant, for the very same reasons they did when I was a teen. I have enough sense to listen to them, so take your platitudes and inability to read elsewhere. Hormone therapy would NOT help; the hormones and weight gain associated with pregnancy would endanger my life and I’d still had less than a 50% chance of carrying a pregnancy to viability.

I was a nanny and now am a mom who employs a nanny. I definitely was not a career nanny, but always knew I wanted kids of my own, which is why I chose to be a nanny, I love kids and love my own the most.

Career nanny here and currently pregnant with my first. Being a nanny made me realize when I have children I want to stay home with them full-time. Too many tears from the moms leaving littles, too many tears from the littles when I would leave because they were so attached, I knew right away I want to be home with my babies if I was able to! Next month will be last nannying because I am in a position to stay home. I can't wait to become a mom! I also knew I would only trust a nanny like myself and I can't clone me!

My nanny experience made me more cautious about having children of my own, for sure. I now have a toddler of my own and it is very, very different than nannying, even though I loved my charges like crazy. Aside from the obvious things such as the fact that you're making the big life decisions for the child and are responsible for the child 24/7, it is just a lot more fun. I never thought I could love a child anymore than I loved my charges, but it's true... mundane things like reading the same book over and over are still mundane, but it is just more fun when it is your own child.

I've never really wanted children, but working as a nanny for the past ten years has cemented that feeling. I just can't imagine that feeling of responsibility never ending. I'm an amazing nanny, but only because I know that after 8 hours of giving my charge 100% of my attention, I can go home and just concentrate on me and what I want to do. Luckily I have nieces and nephews who I can love on and build a long term relationship with. My husband and I may feel differently if we didn't have them.
