No reasons, I host APs who speak German because I speak it and it is very easy to communicate exactly what is required in German rather than English and there are no misunderstandings of expectations on BOTH sides. Germany has an exactly 10xs larger population than Austria, so the pool of APs is naturally larger for Germans. I'm Austrian born here, parents born in Austria and I consider both Germans and Austrians the same.

Don't host Austrians, but host germans. Ad far as the food, at least in our family we eat a very vegetable heavy diet. Is say 75% of our plate is fresh vegetables. I've found that ALL of our German APS were heavy meat eaters and missed the carnivorous feasts.

We've been hosting APS for a long time and long ago adjusted our bread habits and are now addicted to fresh bread from a great local bakery. We even sometimes get Stollen and yes, typical American bread is awful, absolutely the worst.
