This is just an update, w/ a gracious appreciation for you having served as a reference for her but letting you know she won't ask that of you anymore.

And she's staying in touch.

I really don't think it's any more than a perfectly nice note updating you and saying hi.

This is hard to do because we moved out-of-state.
