A short, message " In a bad car accident, will call later with an update." If I couldn't do it - my husband would.

She's had three occasions where she didn't show up for work on time without a notification - most for hours at a time. I'd be getting a new nanny. Oversleeping till10am is terrible.

I agree somethings not adding up with this nanny. I'm sure the hospital had a phone she could've used or she could've had a relative/friend contact them. If I were OP I would've been started looking for a new nanny.
right, because everyone has their employer's number memorized.

She was in a bad car crash, and she brings you an ER note? You're a piece of work, op. And a joke.
I take it you've never been to the ER and been discharged with paperwork and instructions? Lucky you.

On the contrary, I have, but no note since I was in school.

No "proof" needed if I'm out sick.

If you just didn't show up to work, didn't call, didn't contact the family when you were late ... You assume you'd have a job waiting for you? What this nanny did showed a lot of integrity.

If I later provided proof I had been in the hospital following a car accident I would absolutely have a job.

If it didn't get deleted it's probably not a troll which means you're not as smart as you think you are.
