However, the parents who know what her hourly rate is are clearly in the wrong, as there is no way that $400 comes even close to 4 days (even without pay for 10 pm to 6 am). So their $400 is $104 too low for a nanny making only minimum wage.
Substitute a more reasonable wage ($15-20/hour for those ages, imo) and $75-100 per night, and you get the following range:
2 days 6 am to 10 pm, 2* 16*$15=$480; 2*16*$20=$640
2 days 6 am to drop off, 2*2*$15=$60; 2*2*$20=$80
2 days school pick up to 10 pm, 2*6*$15=$180; 2*6*$20=$240
4 nights 10 pm to 6 am, 4*$75=300; 4*$100=400
$480+$60+$180+$300=$1020; $640+$80+$240+$400=$1360
A reasonable range for a 4 day weekend for children in school two of the days is $1020-$1360. Obviously it's higher for younger children who aren't in full day school.
Who would pay 1k? Unless you make super big bucks and 1k feels like 100 or 300 to you. Work 4 days, make 1k! What a gig. 12 and 15 year olds are not babies that need intensive constant care. $15-20 rates for such ages are unreasonable.
For a four day holiday weekend? Anyone who wants to go away and not worry about their kid pays me that if they want me to stay with their kids.
Btw, $15/hour and $75/night are my rate if all children are at least 10 and won't wake up at night unless they are sick. If all kids are 3+ and sttn, my rates for this type of gig are $18/hour and $100 per night. If there are any kids under 3 and/or any child who won't sttn, it's $20/hour and no night rates.

You work 4 24-hour shifts, sleeping in a strange home, responsible for someone else's children, then come tell us what an easy gig it is. It is the height of arrogance for people unwilling to do a job, looking to have someone else do it for them, to then open their mouths to call it easy. If it's an easy job and reasonable rates seem to high, take your snowflakes with you, or keep your ass at home.

Even at minimum wage they still owe another hundred dollars. If they don't think caring for their kids is that big of a deal to at least warrant minimum wage, maybe they should've left them alone. Either they need care or they don't. If they do, you need to pay a fair wage.

They don't ask her to leave her job with me early or anything, and she is allowed to step out to run an errand or whatever. This is not the same as watching a 2 and 5 year old (for which I would pay $1000 or more).
