If op does this her mb will think she hates her kids and job
Did you read her post? Its obvious she does.
She wants to go home on time! A nanny can love your kids to death, but at the end of what for many of us is a 12 hour day, she rightfully wants to leave, not chat another 20 minutes while your kids behave like helions trying to get your attention.
A 12-hour day is pretty typical for nannies? Wow, I hope you are all getting overtime. That is a lot of hours.

I prob do this more than I should (and I won't from now on!) but really - just say something, "I'm sorry Larla, I though I was rostered on til 5 but I'm here till 5.15 every night, do we need to extend my hours or is it possible we can schedule meetings when you need them?" Seriously I would be horrified to think I was doing this to somebody.
You know the scheduled work time for your nanny and you know if you keep saying talking after her quitting time that you are doing this, so, you must be horrified. Of course, your nanny should be ready to leave the minute you walk in the door and you should be ready to take over the minute you walk in the door.
