The flu shot does temporarily weeken your immune system. Which is why some people do get sick right after. The people most benefited from the flu shot are young children and seniors. The flu shot has a very small impact on healthy adults, and while it probably won't make you sick it does increase susceptibility to viruses for a week or two while your body "fights" off the shot and builds antibodies. These are facts, you may look them up. However as a future pharmacist you should really be aware of both sides, there are always two sides.
The two of you cheapen your argument with name calling.
TO the future pharmacist I hope your offline personality is far better than your online one- you'll come into contact with many people who do not share your views as a pharmacist , and you won't last long in your job if you call them all stupid

This argument is just absurd.
If you coincidentally get sick the year, or the week, after you get the flu shot, that is all it is, COINCIDENCE. Do some research, stop using your own anecdotal references as some sort of actual fact.
+ 100. Nanny here ( already posted). I'm so sick of uneducated people saying vaccines are ineffective or lead to illness. They have no business being a nanny of they are unwilling to be vaccinated. I will never work for family that doesn't vaccinate. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Signed - A nanny and future pharmacist.

Anonymous wrote:What would you do? We are due to add another baby to the family the beginning of December. Nanny who's been with us for a year who we like and would like to keep just told me she doesn't get flu shots. She says it makes her not able to fight other viruses as well and she'll get more sick and the only year she got a flu shot she was sick the next day. I work in health care and know the consequences for newborns who contract influenza. Don't even know what to do at this point. She is a bit of a medical exaggerator in general. Everyone is always "SO sick". My own kids when have a cold she is very dramatic about. I feel like if I force the point she'll actually end up "really sick" all winter. What would you do? She doesn't have any conditions that make her immunocompromises. She is extremely health 50 year old who over shares everything medical with me so I feel comfortable saying this.
