I would never be upset if I paid for my child to attend a prestigious university and she became a nanny. Being educated is the reward for a college degree - not a high paying job. And no job is more important than caring for children.
I want my own children to be happy in their work, so if that is being a nanny - so be it.
Our nanny attended a great college and her intelligence/knowledge plays an important role in her teaching our children. She also loves being a nanny. A win/win.
You are one smart parent, the kind good nannies want to work with. Your children are the ultimate benefactors and are most fortunate. Kudos to you and your spouse, and your very lucky nanny. Sounds like you have built a real partnership with her.
