Op here. Thanks for all the responses. To the posters questioning my rate, due to bringing my child, I do not make my typical rate, I'm only making slightly above a share rate for my experience.

You are now, as another poster so astutely observed, an unlicensed in-home daycare provider, and they make CONSIDERABLY LESS than a real nanny.

Actually, no, this would not be a daycare, in a daycare there are multiple children not just the providers child and one other child. This is more akin to a share where the nanny happens to be the mother of the other child and the host of the share.

Home daycare providers are just as good as nannies and some nannies worse. The only difference is that foe home daycare providers it is a numbers game. They charge $300 a child, but might have 10 kids and hire a helper or 2. Parents save money because it is an inconvenience.

However don't be mistaken, home daycare is not an inferior childcare.not is different and most definitely has its benefits.

The OP is wise to ride this gravy train because no parent in their right mind would pay nanny rates for this arrangement.

Not all parents need to be looking for a discount, especially if this arrangement would enable the continuity of care with the same nanny. Think outside your box a bit.

Most parents hire a nanny for the luxury of having it at their home. She is becoming an unlicensed in-home care provider and generally the salary is far less than someone coming to your home, especially when she has her child as well. This family may not care but most will. Its not about thinking outside the box. Most people hire a nanny for their connivence. Nanny is wanting it at her home as its more convenient for her.

This was my first thought. Unlicensed, uninsured home daycare provider at nanny rates without nanny convenience.
