I’ve worked for slobs once before and I would never, ever do it again.

Millions of women keep a neat house without any help. If your house is a mess it is only because you are lazy and a slob.

Yes, but it’s easier said than done. Child care is expensive in America. And parents can be too exhausted at night to get going. I think splitting childcare and organize days between parents is a good solution. It gives the organizing parent total undivided attention to the house and to get projects done.

They can get a sitter, have family watch their children, clean while the children nap, have one parent take the children and the other parent clean/organize, or clean at night after the children go to bed. It's not rocket science.

Anonymous wrote:It looks to me as if your Mom Boss is a compulsive hoarder. And that in itself is a mental disorder (no pun intended) that is way above & beyond your expertise to help.

It sounds to me as if she purchases things because she is either bored in her spare time or she has this compulsion to fill a void in her life. Again...Her behavior is treatable, but only by a professional unfortunately.

It would be rude if you told her she needs to clean her house more often, that she needs to stop purchasing so much junk online, etc. After all, that is not one of your job duties here.

So you either will have to deal w/the clutter when you are there or seek another position.

Even if you recommended she seek professional help, she may not take you up on it.

As a neat-freak, this would drive me nuts.

I like a clean, organized house but would not call myself a net freak and it would have driven me crazy, as well.

Anonymous wrote:Honestly I'd stop cleaning up and have a come to Jesus talk with ALL of them. The kids aren't enough to pack their own lunch so if they want you to do it the counters have to be in the exact same condition you left them. If not you won't pack their lunches. Then follow through.

What?! Children that age are more than old enough to make their own lunches and keep house clean and they need to be doing all of these things. Furthermore, children this age have aged out of needing a nanny.

OP, your mistake was ever cleaning up their messes. The MB sounds as though she is a hoarder.
