Wow. Another posting from a thoughtful + caring nanny family! I just love reading all these nice posts!!

Anyway, you could offer her an extra $100 to help her get back on her feet as well as help her w/her moving costs, but I personally wouldn't give her more than that since you may set a bad precedent for future events.

Good luck.

I think it would be really nice of you to give something extra. If you can flag it as a gift to be used for a particular thing she lost or as the security deposit/first month's rent on her new place, I might do that... For some reason it seems extra thoughtful that way to me.

You sre a douchebag. Her nanny, care giver of her most precious possession, was robbed and you say keep out of her personal problems. I hope you get robbed and no one gives a damn.

OP, yes, I would give as much as you can afford, in cash and as a gift. Imagine how long it took her to save the money but. More importantly, the post effects of being robbed.

Actually, no one gives a damn about my life, which believe it or not, came before the bitterness. And remember, lots of us spend every spare cent on a nanny and have nothing left to give.

Thankfully I'd never be in this position though, since my nanny is a US citizen with a social security number and bank account.

Where does it say ops nanny doesn't have a social security number or bank account. Lots of reasons for someone to have a large amount of cash around

Oh, come on.

care giver of her most precious possession

I didn't write this, but based on the quote you can see the child is the possession, not the nanny.

Her most prized possession huh? Nannies are possessions now?

I'm the OP and to be 100% clear I did NOT post the follow-up about the assumption my nanny loves my kids. I think a troll just decided to hijack this thread for the sake of their amusement.

And while I cannot state with certainty how my nanny or my young son feels, I am confident there is abundant mutual affection

Whew! Ok thanks for clearing that up! I was like why would this woman think that? Lol trolls love it here

You have a good heart and will have good karma, OP. Don't let the bitter misers on this thread deter you from doing the decent thing to help a woman who loves and cares for your children.

My nanny doesn't love my children. What an odd assumption.

Shall we not assume that you love your children?

I'm their mother. The nanny is not.

And?

Op how do you know that she doesn't love your kids? Did she say that? I find it hard to believe that you'd want to help someone or keep in employ a person that can be with your kids more than you are with them and they don't love them.
