By low-key, I mean things like playing quiet games, reading and watching a movie?

Why is this a question, OP?
Do you really care if some nut job parent has ridiculous expectations?

It's just a question. Don't read into it too much.

Yeah, I thought op was just bored.

Who the hell are you talking to? This thread has nothing to do with taking sick days.
Leave please.

If you, as a parent, lack the common sense to take it easy and not go full throttle when you are ill, please let your potential nanny know you expect her to be superhuman and never relax or recover a bit from illness.

Then all the good nannies can run away from you, and leave you with a desperate not-so-great nanny who will work through strep, influenza, and pneumonia, and you can come here to bitch about how nanny refuses to stay home sick and gets you sick all the time.

Parents need to treat their nannies like the human beings they are...And let them rest and recover when needed.

It's only fair.

But not with pay....

No pay if they're working? Hmmm. Interesting concept.
Put down the pipe.

I hope so, I'm a nanny who had a whole low key week! Me and charge were both sick so we watch movies, read, play inside, maybe in the yard a little. I know when I hear a kid or parent coughing their lungs out at story time I think wtf why didn't you stay home. No sense going out and spreading germs.

+1 And I have two very active boys. It is good for them to have downtime every so often -- and they do whenever their SAHM is under the weather!
