I wouldn't start off w/an e-mail to them. I would address the issue verbally because an e-mail may anger them + things will not start off on the right foot.

If you DO decide to start off w/an e-mail, simply let them know that you need to talk to them BOTH and ask them when would be a suitable time to do so.

Since you are giving them such a long notice, things should proceed well. However, on the forum I have heard horror stories so be prepared to be out of work for those next five weeks.

Hope things work in your favor however.

They were very gracious, wrote me a kind email and offered me a huge raise. I'd take it if I were younger.
