So before you brush your teeth or do a number two, you need to ask proper permission first.

It is expected that while on duty, you are only to urinate briefly and wash and sanitize your hands afterward. All parents assume this.

It is unspoken.

If you are to do anything beyond this, I would discuss it first with my bosses.

After all, it IS common sense.

Most stupid post of the month.

No. No. I think the. PP's tongue is not from her cheek because I refuse to believe anyone is this stupid

I even let repairmen use my toilet. I do get annoyed when they don't put the seat back down since my DH and son have learned to do this without reminders.

I have never seen someone spit in the toilet. Of course you spit in the bathroom sink and rinse it down with running water afterwards. If MB was really annoyed by this, she needs to get out in the real world more.

I'm shocked by how many people fell for the troll responses. Not a very bright group on here.

Your charge was probably in some sort of trouble and your MB was wondering why you were spending 10 minutes brushing your teeth instead of looking after the baby.

I am an MB and this is absolutely nuts. My nanny spends 8.5 hours in a row at my house. How might she possibly avoid having to take a poop while there? And I have NO INTEREST in her telling me beforehand if she's going to do it. Wow. What?!

Our nanny has asked if she can get ready to go out for the night at our house. I honestly didn't think she needed to ask but that was nice.

Also, nobody spits in the toilet. THAT is weird and gross. And I'd rather have a nanny with good breath than one not "allowed" to brush her teeth.

I'm speechless.

Do you ask your boss's permission when you have to take a crap?

You think your bosses want to discuss your poop with you? If mu nanny asked me for permission to poop, id worry she was mentally ill

We have to ask permission to poop?
Should we bring our own toilet paper since you don't condone that type of behavior?
Damn nannies and their bodily functions.

"Some people like myself and maybe her MB do not like people spitting in the sinks even if they clean up after. "

Sorry but you're crazy. OP if your MB does not believe you should spit in the sink when you brush your teeth & she's irritated you did this, well there is no help for her & i imagine she has many other weird quirks too. Sorry - plain old nuts.

- an MB

I can understand her being put off by that.

Otherwise, you are probably over thinking it, and I wouldn't worry/

? This is not The Help, nannies can use bathrooms as they please.

Actually they can not. I'd be pretty pissed if nanny took a huge shit in one of my toilets. They are for my family, friends, and guests. I expect nanny to be spending her time on the clock productively with my child, not spending 15 minutes taking a crap.
