I think you can just say something like "you might not know this, I only realized it because I've had several friends that accidentally did this to their kids, but it's really important that you always grab Larla above the elbows or under the armpits. Their bones and sockets aren't developed yet, and it's really easy for their elbow to slip out of the socket. When that happens, you have to go to the ER - it's not serious, but it's a real pain in the butt and takes like six hours."
Does it sound like I have experience giving this speech?
It is serious for a young child who can't communicate what is wrong. If they dislocate elbow once, more chance it can happen again since joint is weakened.
