Even my brother who is on State disability, gets his Social Security check amount raised every year due to a "Cost of Living" increase as well.

Cost Of Living, Douche. My rent goes up every year and my apartment hasn't gotten any bigger or better since I moved in.
Seriously, have you never held a job that gave you a raise?
Nope, I've always contracted and billed what I felt my services we worth. And also I have been in the same apartment in downtown for 4 years now and my rent hasn't changed at all.
I feel my services are worth a dollar more an hour annually because I have a year's worth of experience that I didn't have the year before!!
Well sorry honey, they aren't. You are doing the same job as before. Do more work if you want more money just like everyone else in the world.

So because your cost of living (eg rent) hasn't increased, do you think no one's has?
I FEEL (like you) than my services are worth more this year than last.
If your rent goes up while you are living there you are doing something wrong...
