Op, in what field are you looking for a job? If it's a field where jobs are plentiful and you are highly qualified, maybe I'd take a gamble on getting unemployment. Otherwise I'd stay since the moNey you'd be making working is more than unemployment.

This is not true. The conditions of her employment have changed drastically in the negative and this is a valid reason for quitting. OP, if you quit, work 30 days for someone else and then apply. Your former employer no longer can stop your claim. Good luck.

I have a masters and am debt-free as well. I'm not sure what that has to do with anything, though. The skills that you are using for your nanny job are simply not worth more than $15 an hour.


I love how she says she is worth no less than $20 an hour yet finds herself unemployed lol

OP,I was fired for "no show" at work. I told my family that I need to leave the country for 3 weeks and requested unpaid time off. They didn't agree. I told them I'm going anyway and when came back I was left with no job. I filled for unemployment and my claim was approved! I was making about $800 a week ($15/h) and had to prove that I'm searching a job (at least one application a week for a rate $15/h)
