Well it really is on them, not on you.
You agreed to work until a certain time frame. And so did they.
And then on the same day which you were scheduled to babysit (which is considered last minute), they tried to change that time frame which is not acceptable.
You specifically told them you could not do it, so I don't see it should be a big deal.
The most they should be is disappointed, but their disappointment should by no means be aimed at you.
