I make my nanny work every day, 365 days a year. We never talked about it before we hired her, because, why bother? She's just basically a slave ...

I never really understand the posts about how "awful" it is when someone has to work a holiday. Usually, you knew that when you took the job. All kinds of people work holidays for all kinds of reasons, and just because you do it at one point in your life doesn't mean you'll do it forever. Some jobs just have long/unusual hours, and before you agree to one, you need to think about whether this job is worth it to you. If it's literally the only job you can get, well, there might be a reason for that.

Actually, it's a nanny troll. There are a few here who love to post as if they are evil MBs. They're fairly easy to spot.

Our nanny flies in first class with us. I would never dream of leaving her alone with the kids in coach. Geez.

You fly commercial? hah

Yes. Why?

I'm off (paid) Wednesday, Thursday & Friday though I did offer to come in for a few hours on Wednesday since MB & DB are hosting for the 1st time. MB'S mother used to host every year, but she passed away earlier this year and I don't want MB getting super stressed.

the 5 year old is always up at the crack of dawn. I woke up at 6 and found him snuggled with his mom watching TV. I went in there to grab him to make breakfast and get him dressed and start the day.
She told me to immediately go back to bed and sleep cause it's Thanksgiving and no one works on Thanksgiving.

I was so HAPPY I love my employer! This year. I'll be sleeping inn

That's so nice. But you had never discussed holidays before working?

The kids are too young to be left in coach by themselves anyway.

Bummer.

I have a 5 day weekend. My family is out of town so I'm off from Wednesday-Sunday.
I was joking. Off Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

I have Thursday and Friday off, grudgingly. I usually get the entire week off, but we have a new share family this year and they seem to schedule their travel to purposefully not line up with the other family.
