If i sit here and nickle and dime her on IRS rates it will be more of a headache for me and i think build resentment with her. She takes my son out for various activities each day every day so I feel that's a fair amount. I know other nannies who dont get reimbursed at all so it's up to you. I just can sleep better at night knowing that even though I'm paying her a great rate, I'm not putting her out on the wear and tear on her car with a messy 2 year old.
$25 per week is fair if your nanny drives 45 miles or less a week. Otherwise, you are doing worse than "nickle and diming" her, you are actually undercompensating her per the IRS rate of 56 cents a mile.

If the Nanny puts premium gas in her vehicle she has very right to expect repayment at premium gas prices

Nice try, nanny troll.

The weird cheap thing here is that YOU, the employer, didn't offer to reimburse UPFRONT gas money ... That shows that you are a terrible employer.
I hope you're a troll because I can't imagine you could be a nanny and be so stupid.

Anonymous wrote:It doesnt matter if she puts premium in! Even if she is in a Hummer getting 10 miles to the gallon, she'd be reimbursed over $5 for that gallon of gas. IRS reimbursement is more than fair for gas /plus/ wear and tear.
