I can guarantee you that if she is working with patients in nursing school she has gone through a lot more thorough of a background check than the one they run on Care.com. As long as you can actually confirm that she is in her clinical stage of nursing school I would be okay with skipping it.

Yeah, but the nanny can authorize it--have the school sending a letter verifying enrollment.

I'd hire her OP. If you've done good reference checking etc... just have a trial period for a few days, and a probationary term of 3 mths (or something along those lines).

Sounds like you have a great gut feel about her and lots of info so I'd feel ok about hiring.
