I haven't had a check up since I was around 5. Adults really don't need yearly check ups. I haven't even had a dr since childhood. If I get sick I go to an urgent care or a minute clinic. That way I don't have to take time off. I can get all my shots at Walgreens.

So what would you do in OP's position? Obviously the ultrasound needs to be done.
I wouldn't listen to any advice someone as unprofessional as pp gives. Nannies like her drive me nuts. It's hard to get employers to treat us like professionals and with respect when there are so many nannies wandering around who don't demand it
I just love how I'm the nanny who never takes a sick day or personal day. I'm always 10 minutes early but somehow I'm the unprofessional one.
You're not very smart if you went 5 years without seeing a doctor or dentist. Not smart if you don't know how to negotiate benefits every professional nanny should get. Just because you bend over backwards for your employers and likely let them take advantage of you does not make you professional.

If your Dr. needs to schedule an ulrasound because she sees something, then you cannot put this off.
Perhaps you can have her write a note to show your bosses that this is important so that they can understand the importance of this needing to be done.
I encourage you to get this done sooner rather than later.
Taking good care of your health should always be your top priority OP!
