Op here. This is actually a true situation that I'm dealing with at the moment. I can see how my ill worded original post can be misconstrued as false because I was typing quickly on my iPhone and the fact that there is a heated debate about the topic in general in another post. I'm not completely opposed to getting the shot and my insurance (that they don't pay for) will cover it, I just prefer not to since it has never protected me in the past. I didn't think my employers would care since 1. They are they only family I work for. 2. The mother refuses to get the shot for similar reasons. I was surprised by their reaction and request. I was hoping to get some feedback about whether I'm missing some reasoning behind their request to gain a better understanding before I discussed it in person.
While I'm bitter they refuse to pay towards my healthcare and then ask for optional vaccinations, I realize this is my last year with them and it's not worth the battle.
