Anyway, it is the family's responsibility, not yours to secure a back-up childcare plan in place upon hiring you. This should be standard common sense-wise. In life, my philosophy is one should
always always have a Plan B. If she is not responsible enough to have one in place, then that is her bad. Let her deal w/the consequences. Tough luck for her.
Personally, I am not a clairvoyant, but I get a strong vibe here that this job is the wrong fit and won't last very long.
