I know you want him to sleep in a sleep sack, so can we try X, Y or Z to help keep him at a more moderate temperature?"
My guess is that she wants him in a sleep sack so that he won't climb out of the crib, or because it is part of his sleep association. Whatever the reason, work WITH her instead of digging in and starting a power struggle.
I disagree. If the orders given by my bosses put my charge at risk of injury, illness, or death I will either not obey them. That child is going to overheat.

Using a sleep sack past when a child is mobile and is pulling up standing up which a 2 year old presumably is , is not safer. Doesn't make mom a lazy parent just a victim of clever marketing.
A child of 2 is capable o sleeping with a small blanket.
I warmth is the issue the child could be dresses warmly in pajamas and achieve the same result as a sleep sack without the potential risk to a climber.

I cannot believe no one mentioned this yet.
I mean I am not discriminating or anything....
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I would explain that you think hes too hot and he wakes up asking for water,
I would ask if you can try one nap without the sleep sack, and if he can just wear a tank top. if it goes well ask if you can keep doing it, if not, you will go back to the sleep sack.
This is mostly a good idea, but if he is dependent on the the sack the nap most likely won't go well. Ask for 3 naps .
The bigger issue here is that mom wants no input from nanny even when it concerns the health of her child. This child is at serious risk for dehydration and showing early signs of dehydration
yet there seems to be zero concern on the part of mom.
Trust me this is a pattern that will continue it will be all about mom's plans and ides with regard to what is happening with her child.
