When was the last time you told your family you appreciate them?

When was the last time you thanked them for being good employers?

Do you buy them gifts to celebrate them on "nannyversary"?

I'd only be upset if in my contract I was promised a raise on my yearly anniversary and they never gave it to me. As for gifts and acknowledgment I could care less. And if they have honestly never praised throughout the year than that would be rude.

This is my current situation. It is stated in the contract etc. I really wish I could figure out how to handle it. I am not a money hungry or paid top scale for experience, education but it's insane that I haven't received anything. Sigh...

It's possible that your NF feels like you haven't earned a raise. Remember, raises are earned for exceptional work. Schedule a meeting with them and bring very specific examples of your accomplishments and why you feel you have earned a raise. This will force the conversation and allow them to either justify why they won't give you a raise, or allow you to justify your raise. Good luck.

Long-time poster here. Will you please cut out the mentions about NCT. Most of us don't know or care what it is. Stop trying to distract from the topic at hand.

Well, you're not raising their children so that could be part of the reason they haven't praised you for it.

Honestly, I don't even remember my work anniversary date. You're placing too much emphasis on it.

OP, are you upset because they have not given you a performance review and raise? Or because they have not acknowledged your hard work? I suggest you ask for what you need. One way to bring light to your efforts is to include them in your daily report. I would not list my efforts but describe how what you are doing is benefiting your charge. For example, "Larla's fine motor skills are improving. I designed such and such activity to help her grow in this area." Basically, be proactive and take responsibility for the day if you want to be acknowledged for your hard work.

Ridiculous holiday. I never get recognized for being at my firm every year. The problem with nannies is that they want the benefits of an office job, yet get presents for made up holidays.
