However, he will start the meter when she starts to put then in and he will be peeved unless you tip him well. I think a respectful tip is due anyway. One thing I don"t know is whether he will charge the dollar or fifty cents per head. Can you do a test run? If it costs you less than $50, which is what I would have to charge you, then you should probably got with it.

$50 x 5 days = might as well just hire a really babysitter and forget about Grandma.

I am thinking the same, and I have and I am considering hiring a helper (as people suggested to do pick up plus help my mum), the only problem being that my mum does not want anyone (yet) and she might make the hired helper's life not so pleasant because she is very protective of her charge. Her health is good all things considered, but she has boots of sciatica and she is convinced that walking is bad for her. Also, she has an autoimmune disease that makes her weak sometimes, and not eager to exercise...outdoors. I don't know how much is psychological or real, but either way, I want to respect her ways. She seems totally fine in the house and she plays with DS to no end, to me it seems way more work than taking him to the park. She is the one who wanted to move in and take care of DS, I did not expect her to be able, but the activity has been good for her, body and spirit. She is doing so much for me as it is that I don't want to force her to do anything she does not feel good about.

Also, she is concerned about exposing new baby to harsh weather (to her anything below 68 or above 72 ), so again, I don't want to push her on that either.
