Op here. Haha, this is actually pretty ironic that I never reposted... I was really busy taking care of our kids. I didn't really have to deal with it, as it surprisingly didn't come up. I was waiting for our kids to ask where she was or why she hadn't come back. I talk to them about her occasionally, on a very positive way, in case they want to talk about it. But they seem okay. I only have one or two photos of them together.

As for the situation, we really didn't know why she left. She lied to us about multiple fake emergencies and never came back.

We didn't have any problems with her and considered the experience positive.

Once we got over the shock enough to realize she lied, I think we just figured so be it. It was a shame, we would have been happy to keep in touch.

The job was going to end by June sometime anyway, so it wasn't a terrible bind we were left in. I had to scramble a tiny bit to reschedule my workload but managed to pull it off pretty easily.

We used the money we would have paid her to do some small but major impact renovations on our house and some fun mommy-daughter shopping and nails appointments.

All works out for the best in the end.....

I too am curious as to what happened. We can't give advice without knowing the circumstances.
