An extra child is always an added responsibility even if not added stress or work. You are paid for your physical labor and your attention and care. So yes, they do need to compensate you for the additional child. I would also be clear about boundaries even when the parent is home. If you are not actively supervising the child then they need to pay you. It seems like you have a clear message to articulate already. You should move forward and have the conversation.
