Years ago when I was a nanny for a very sweet 3-year-old boy, he tripped on the back porch steps on his way in from playing. He told his mother I pushed him down the stairs! When questioned, he was adamant about it and I was aghast and appalled. I never laid a hand on him and was so relieved when MB understood that he was just going through a phase.

OP, if you are for real I hope you can find a way to get to the bottom of this.

I am thinking someone is coming on here and posting some over-the-top posts lately.

But to answer the question in point here, fire the nanny.

Don't trust your daughter,3 years old their always say bad thing about nanny,I know that..

Bottom line: She believes her child. Then why is she still paying the woman?? Very confusing.

"Nanny, you're fired. My daughter who never ever ever lies, fibs, exaggerates, or makes up stories told us you slapped her. Under our expert, non-leading, completely impartial and non-emotional questioning, she continued to testify that you, and ONLY YOU, nanny are the sole person to ever ever slap her. Two weeks later: Your lovely child tells you her teacher slapped her, and daddy kicked her, and the mailman pinched her.

Your decision now is whether to fire your nanny based solely on your 3 year old's story, or to, perhaps, DISCUSS this with your nanny, and figure out what actually happened before potentially firing someone based on inconclusive evidence.

So, a few years ago, my 3yr old charge told his mother I him. I absolutely did not hit him, and after talking to me and questioning the 3yr old it became clear he was entering a "tattling/lying" phase. It was incredibly heart breaking to have my charge accuse me... So, my advice is to question your daughter again, question the nanny, and use your judgement.

Could she have just gave her a small slap on her behind or hand? I know that doesn't make it okay but you really never know if your nanny just gave her a small slap because she wasn't listening. I think the best thing is to talk to your nanny about it again. If she lies, let her go.

Nanny here- I currently watch a 3 1/2 year old girl. I have been caring for her since she was 2 years old. About 2 months ago, she was having a melt down because she didn't want DB to leave for work and out of no where says, "Miss L**** slaps me ALL THE TIME" and DB was like "uh huh okay" and she's like "nooo but she does" and obviously DB didn't believe it. I sat there STUNNED as I have never slapped her. DB knew I would never do that and we let it go. The next day, MB was telling me how she asked my charge about it and was like "does grandpa slap you?" and my charge was like "YES!" and "does auntie slap you?"... "YES". MB knew very quickly that she was obviously making this all up.

So my point? You really shouldn't flat out believe what a 3 year old says.
