It's easy. I called you a troll because it sounds unbelievable that all that could occur in the one hour between when you posted about your alleged problem and your complete solution.

As I said in my other post, it is unbelievable that a mother who already decided NOT to hire you would then believe every word you said that quickly when you claim she thinks her nanny "hung the moon".

If you aren't a troll, then wow, great that your story had such a quick and satisfying end.

Why do you care that a few people on a message board think your post is fake?

OP here. Mom didnt install cameras. Nowhere in my post did I say that because of my phone conversation the mother installed a camera and confirmed "my story".

Facts:

The nanny sucks

I feel like shit because I observed this and did nothing.

Mom emailed me to thank me for my time and tell me I didn't get the position.

I thanked her for the opportunity and said she should consider putting the nanny cameras she previously used back in the home.

She called.

I shared what I saw, heard and observed.

She listened, asked questions and from what I could hear sounded devastated. She thanked me for being honest.

Since my last posting she has emailed me several times and I'm assuming plans to confront the nanny on Monday.


I don't know why people are so quick to assume I'm a troll. This post wasn't meant to get a rile out of anyone. It was my experience and I wanted to vent and possibly get some advice from other nannies.

I'm not a regular board member and only visit this site to seek employment or ask child-related questions. I had no idea that the majority of the responses would be accusations.

Other then smoking around the child nothing the nanny did sounds that bad. How have the parents not smelled smoke on her or their child though. The child was never in harms way. This nanny sounds like a bad egg but she never hurt the child.

I usually do not say things like this, but it is so obvious that this posting is 120% made up.

Sounds like the nanny was trying to give you advice about how to be fake and over affectionate with the child. Maybe she was trying to help. That apparently was needed for the job. Op sounds like its a good thing you didn't get the job.

Mom said they have a strong preference in her words for "outward ooey gooey lovey approach". All if not most of my references describe me as loving but firm. I called one of my references (current employer) for advice about the situation and she said mom spent about 20 mins asking questions related to that.

Prior to the trial mom emailed me and wanted to confirm my interest in the position because she was going to stop looking for other candidates. I suspect I wasn't hired based in part on what my references had to say about me (although glowing they won't lie and say I'm the kissy face type) and my trial day with the mother where I wasn't openly affectionate to a child I had just met.

I'm a little perturb about not being offered the job based on how well I love children because I really really love the children I've cared for in the past. I don't open mouth kiss children and slobber all over them in the presence of what is the most important person in their lives but I do know that they feel loved by me.

Just wasn't the right fit. Imagine how difficult the next nanny will have it based on the sociopath they will be firing.
