Lmao hilarious thread. But hey neighbor! I too work and live in Atlanta. Buckhead to be exact. I have people remove their shoes in my own home due to germs but keep a basket of footies on a shelf by my front door. My girlfriends have complained about me not wanting them to wear shoes but their feet not being pedicured so the footies hide whatever they want to hide and the shoes stay in the foyer. I have a small dog and don't need her getting something.

So naturally I remove my shoes promptly when I come in my nf home. They do also. Their home is very clean but I just keep a pair of slippers there that I wear only inside

Why not take a new (clean) pair of flip flops to wear in the house? Cooler than socks or slippers and easy to switch to outdoor sandals.

Worse than tracking in whatever shit is on your shoes? You aren't very bright.

I clearly stated wear socks or slippers. I never said wearing shoes in the house wasn't gross. Bare feet is what spreads athletes foot and other nasty germs

MB here. A nanny in my house can wear (or not wear) whatever makes her comfortable (within reason of course.)

I would not presume to dictate footwear. If you want to go barefoot, fine, if you want to wear Uggs 24/7 that's fine also.

I would be offended if my nanny did wear her shoes in my house. Socks I don't care but we ask everyone to remove their shoes upon entering our house. Our floors are clean we would like them to remain so.

Wow...Why such snarky and rude responses??!! I do not understand. I mean, this is a legitimate and valid question.

I am sorry OP for the difficult answers on here. Please do not categorize all of us nannies like this. I am ashamed to be grouped in a profession where people act like the children they are entrusted to care for.

Anyway, I wouldn't ask the parents.
I think it is okay to just go barefoot. I don't see any problem with it. However, I live in CA where it is always warm, but then again, you say you live in ATL and if it is always warm there as well then it probably is acceptable there as well.

However, if you feel like your bosses feel uncomfortable w/you going barefoot, you can always wear those socks that stop just below the ankle.
