If a CPS caseworker is called to INVESTIGATE your situation, there is a record of the visit even if the case was unfounded.
Haven't you heard those situations in the news where some child was found dead and the news says that CPS was called, but nothing happened, etc.
Trust me, in this day and age of modern technology, everything that happens gets recorded somehow. Don't believe the hype guys.
the fact that it is recorded somewhere does not mean that it is recorded in a database accessible by the public and made public
This exactly. Just because someone calls CPS and there is a record of the call and/or the investigation doesn't mean you are in the database of abusers. It's the same as calling the police and then coming out to investigate the call. They make notes and keep a record, but it doesn't go on your record if they don't find anything. It's similar to going to trial and being found not guilty of the crime you were charged with. That's not on your record either.
I've worked in the system for several years as a Social Worker. I've called CPS at least a hundred times and I've worked with families who had CPS called on them a hundred more. I know how the system works.
