I assumed the clothing invitation would suffice.
It's not like I'm taking over their home. It's in the back of a cabinet in an unused cabinet behind a package of toilet paper.
MB actually called me and apologized profusely for what DB did. She said it was absolutely fine for me to leave things in their home and she can't believe he brought it up. In the future, I'll ask.
Maybe this is why he said something. You didn't ask upfront and then you basically hid your basket in the cabinet. Just do what almost EVERY other employee (regardless of where they work) does and carry your personal belongings with you. I have a hard time believing that a few toiletries are too cumbersome to keep in a purse or tote...

Those are all things you can throw in a tote bag, bring into the house, put down and not carry around all day, and then take home. The bag can live in your car if it's really that inconvenient to carry them around. But I carry most of that stuff in my purse all the time anyway - not sure how it's THAT inconvenient either ....

This doesn't make sense. If it was as unobtrusive as you say in a bathroom no one uses, how did he find it in order to say something? And when he found it, why would he assume it was yours and not something MB had put out? Either it was out and much more obtrusive than you claim or you're a troll making this all up (I think the latter).
