OP blocked those hours for her MB. MB should pay for the hours she reserved...especially since it was cancelled so last minute.
If you make a reservation with a hotel and don't cancel within 24 hours (usually), you forfeit a portion of your deposit. The hotel lost the opportunity to book the room for another client, just as OP lost the opportunity to book another job.
This is a babysitting gig, not a hotel or doctor appointment.
OP as much as it sucks esp after she said it, I don't think you're entitled to the guarentee pay. It would've been nice or them, moral wise.
