I opened a separate bank account and made our nanny an "agent" on it. She gets a debit Mastercard with her name on it, and I can see any charges. I just put $250 in it, and replenish as needed (did this over the summer, and have only replenished once).

She doesn't take them out to eat often, but I expect to pay when she does. I really don't want her spending her money while doing her job. When the weather is nice, they'll pack a lunch and have a picnic in the park.

What do you think is a reasonable monthly or weekly amount? Our nanny only has one of our children full time, but sometimes has two of them with her. We live in the Annapolis, MD area.

$20 a week should be more than sufficient. That is what I am left and I rarely spend it all!

Great - Thanks!
