I'm a nanny and I've been watching my charge since he was a month old ( he's 6 months now) and I just realized the other day that the parents have hidden cameras. I noticed because they have two different types of smoke detectors and some are too close to each other to make sense.. so I looked it up online and found the exact model.
In my opinion, I would have rather they asked or warned me ahead of time cause I felt a little weird about it at first but I completely understand why they would do that. I just feel like they should've come to me first.
See, if I found that, I'd immediately start my job search. Its dishonest and underhanded to do that without telling me, and I couldn't respect my bosses if I knew they were willing to lie to me. My contract includes a clause about dishonesty, and I made sure that it was a mutual clause, so in my case, I'd be terminating the contract for cause and they'd get no notice.
