Nannies are "hourly employees" - they get paid hourly. I currently work in Dubai and get paid for 60 hours a week - luckily I usually only work 60 hours

To the OP sit down and say "I love sharing little Jonny's day with you, but for the past 3 weeks I have not gotten off the clock until x. Would you like to change my contract to x so you have the extra time at the end of the day for a catch up chat" - if you are happy to work an extra half hour each day. Or "I love chatting with you about little Jonny's day but I need to leave here at X" I would gather all your stuff together and just start getting ready when its time to go home

Because not all nannies are selfish trolls? I would do it from time to time mostly because I knew it was something they would appreciate. Some of us have worked for families where don't "need" anything, but extra time with their spouse, without the kids running under their feet.

OP here. My employers DO in fact give me free time all the time. I've gotten quite a bit of extra paid days off throughout the year. Our relationship has always been mutually considerate and generous, so I was genuinely taken aback when my MB tried to milk my gift for all she could get. This is the first time I have given such a gift, but lesson learned, and next year they'll get a card and a cheap bottle of wine.

I'd maybe say something like "I've noticed you have a lot of questions about our day. is this log not working for you? I canuse a different log or track different information if the current system isn't working. otherwise, I need to leave by X time in order to attend to home duties. I'm sure you understand."
