Turns out my NF isn't able to afford to keep me. Even if I claimed as self employed. My heart is completely broken as well as my MB's. We have had many heart to hearts. SHE has assured me over and over that I will continue to remain in the children's lives and will always be apart of the family. This is reassuring. I do believe her completely and have confidence that she isn't just saying this to make the situation easier on me.
It may seem weird that I am so sad, mad and disappointed about this but these kids are so very very special to my heart and I truly love them.
Back to the job hunt. I really am dreading a new job.

OP here
Do you know anything about if my employers would need to pay me for stat holidays even if I'm not needed or scheduled on a stat?
Hi - I think it depends on if you are a salaried or hourly employee. If you are paid by the hour, to be paid a stat hol I think you would need to be normally scheduled to work that day and have worked your usual work days before and after the holiday (i.e. not been on vacation). If you are salaried it might be different, it may even be possible if a stat hol falls on a day you don't usually work they have to give you a different day off instead. But I am not an expert, I think the best thing is to google it / look on the goverment's website.
I'm not a MB but I believe nannies can't legally be salaried.
OP unless you have guarenteed hours they don't legally have to pay you for holidays although it is standard.

Hopefully everyone on the board where she posted the messages will tell her she's nuts and totally unfair to you. Secondly, I hate when people claim their nanny or housekeeper is like a member of their family. No they're not. You don't pay members of your family to watch your children.
I agree with this. I'm a MB, and I would want to be clear in my own head about what I could offer before I talked to you. If this is new information to her, she may need to do the research, check her budget, and figure out if she can afford it. I wouldn't want to respond emotionally to you, and I would want to be able to be straight with you about what we could manage. I would also be asking about daycare, since I would be worried you would quit on the spot if I couldn't make it work.
