It certainly is not, this board is evidence enough of that, but this thread is specifically making the nannies here look immature. What's even more upsetting is that rather than seeing this as a beneficial space to discuss real issues with their coworkers all over the country (which could be an enriching and unique advantage), a select few nannies have decided to resort to playgroud levels of insult and dialogue. "Lets take this back from the idiot California nannies", "They should go play somewhere else". Sad ladies, sad.

I'm an MB. I think it's fine that others from outside the DC area post here since many threads are about topics not specific to regional issues. But when it's about rates and benefits and people do not say if they are talking about locations outside DC then it's pretty pointless. Benefit and rate norms in CA or PA are really 100% irrelevant to those in this area. Even here, if it's a rate question and the poster doesn't say if it's NWDC vs. PG county, well - kind of useless info.

+1. Whether it's actual nannies or MBs or trolls, this entire forum makes my profession look bad. Everyone always says the truly experienced professional nannies don't read or post here and the great families haven't even heard of this forum. Why is that?
